Give Your Time

Volunteer

We couldn't do this without you. Preservation in Tyler is, and always has been, the work of neighbors.

We Need You

A gift of time is a gift to Tyler

Thank you for supporting Historic Tyler, Inc. with the generous gift of your time. Our work — the tour, the advocacy, the events — depends on volunteers.

Ways to volunteer

There is a role for every interest and every schedule — from a single weekend on the tour to year-round committee service. Find the one that suits you.

Tour hosts & docents

Welcome guests and share each home's story during Historic Tyler on Tour — the most public face of our work.

Event support

Help set up, staff, and run member events and parties throughout the year, from reveal nights to the Christmas party.

Research & documentation

Assist with property research and the documentation behind district nominations — the paper trail that outlives a building.

Committee service

Lend your skills to the tour, membership, or communications committees and help steer the organization's work.

50th anniversary team

Help plan and run the 2027 anniversary celebrations — a once-in-a-generation milestone for Tyler preservation.

Photography & communications

Capture events and help tell Tyler's preservation story across the newsletter, website, and social media.

More Than One Way to Help

Consider becoming a member, too

Volunteers give the gift of time; members give the steady support that funds the work year-round. Many neighbors do both — and there is room for you in either.
