Historic Tyler on Tour
Since 1981, our largest annual fundraiser has opened the doors of Tyler's most beautifully preserved homes — each spring, during the city's celebrated Azalea Trails.
Forty-five years of open doors
Historic Tyler on Tour began in 1981 and has run every spring since. Over those decades, more than 200 homeowners have welcomed the public inside their historic houses — not as museums, but as living homes — to show what thoughtful preservation makes possible.
Every ticket directly supports the year-round work of Historic Tyler: advocacy before the city, historical markers, restoration grants, and the nominations that create new historic districts.
The tour traces Tyler's historic neighborhoods — a city whose street grid has been mapped since the 19th century.
The 50th Anniversary Tour
In 2027, Historic Tyler on Tour coincides with the organization's golden anniversary — a once-in-a-generation edition of the event that started it all.
An expanded route
A landmark slate of homes across Tyler's National Register districts, chosen to honor five decades of preservation.
A commemorative booklet
A keepsake program documenting the anniversary homes, their histories, and the people who restored them.
A celebration weekend
A Candlelight party, garden gatherings, and the return of the homes that defined the tour's history.
How a tour weekend works
The tour unfolds across three days each spring. Schedule and pricing shown reflect the most recent tour and are confirmed anew each year.
